Our School Programme

MérisCool – a project by Mériscope and supervised by Jackie Egger – was launched in 2019. The programme, complementing our existing offer, is mainly dedicated to high school students and teachers. We are offering guidance and supervision of high school projects in the field, internships in marine biology for high school students as well as lectures and workshops around the subject of marine ecosystems.

Mériscope is a registered charity in Canada (Province Québec). Since 2001, we have been working with universities, NGOs, companies and government agencies to implement educational programmes, research and conservation projects.

We are a dynamic team of very experienced and highly motivated people, committed to conveying knowledge that promotes environmental awareness among students at a variety of school levels. We develop educational units adapted to the grade of your class and the level of prior knowledge of your students. Our lessons are structured and pedagogically sustainable (work sheets, workshops, MINT) and the programme is presented by marine biologists with a thourough background in the field.

Our Goal

  • to familiarize students with marine ecosystems (oceans, coastal waters, deep sea, polar regions) authentically
  • to create current relevance (climate change, global conveyor belt, chemical and noise pollution, whaling etc.)
  • to encourage young people to think independently and critically
